2017年1月1日起，全國全面供應符合國ⅴ標準的車用汽油、柴油，同時停止國內銷售低于國ⅴ標準車用汽、柴油。年初，國家發改委等11個部門發布通知，要求進一步推進成品油質量升級及加強市場管理。事實上，2016年1月1日東部地區11省市成品油已提前施行國五標準。

以后該加幾號汽油國iv升級為國v后，汽油牌號由90號、93號、97號三個牌號調整為89號、92號、95號、98號四個牌號；而柴油牌號不變，國v車用柴油經營牌號仍為0號。
